DYNAMIC HEARING TECHNOLOGY
In the BHSS Anechoic Chamber you will experience the same quiet solitude enjoyed by hikers at the top of Mount LeConte. Just as the hiker enjoys the silence, stillness, and beauty of God's creation, the BHSS Anechoic Chamber is a true mountain top experience.

The BHSS Anechoic Chamber provides a level of silence that enables our staff to measure the energy of sound waves with accuracy never before available to us. These measurements will allow us to calibrate the amplification of each hearing aid to the precise needs of each individual.

WHAT IS AN ANECHOIC (an-i-ko-ic) CHAMBER?
The BHSS Anechoic Chamber is a large room filled with sound absorbing cones made of foam and attached to the walls, ceiling and floor. This unique room absorbs more than 99% of the energy of sound. It provides a one of a kind area for us to conduct important research and to fit your hearing aid.

WHAT WILL I SEE AND HEAR?
The sound cones are arranged in an alternating pattern that allows for maximum absorption of sounds. The cones are everywhere. There is one chair near the end of the room that is surrounded by several speakers. A computer and soundboard complete the room. At first, spoken words may sound a bit odd or dull. This is because the sound cones are doing their job; absorbing the energy of the sound coming from your voice.
